About Me

I've always found studying to be a way for me to give my energy a proper channel. At the risk of sounding a nerd, studying is a great destresser for me. The feeling I love the most in this is when I'm rapidly writing notes and the material is actually making sense.

I was born in Dubai and lived there until I was 8. I attended DPS, Dubai from grades 1 to 3 and that's where my interest in studying began. My family moved to Toronto when I was 8. The style of education here was completely different from what I was used to and I loved it. It was more hands-on and a lot more thinking based than just reading some text and answering related questions.

I know there isn't much for a 9-year-old to study but I didn't restrict my education to what was taught at school. The library became my best friend. I remember signing out as many as 23 books just to do some 'light reading'. It's probably obvious that my favourite Harry Potter character was Hermione Granger.

My family moved back to Dubai the day after my Grade 6 graduation. I resumed my education at DPS, realizing that the rote learning method they followed wasn't right for me. I knew that sticking to the methods of learning I had used in Toronto would help me absorb knowledge much better than how this school wanted me to.

I did the best I could at school while maintaining a pretty good social life. I excelled in most of my classes and, to be honest, loved being the teacher's pet. To me, that's a compliment. I did very well in my Grade 10 CBSE Boards and chose to become a part of the Science stream.

I did face difficulty when I started Grade 11, but I think it was because I wasn't given enough time to make a smooth transition from learning about 5 general subjects to learning 3 subjects in detail.

My struggle didn't last too long. I moved back to Toronto before Grade 11 ended in Dubai. Here, I get to study at my own pace and understand concepts to their depths.

I love helping other people understand concepts as well as I do. My love for helping others study started in Grade 8 when a classmate of mine asked me to explain a question to her right before a midterm exam and a similar question showed up on the paper. I decided that I wanted to share what I know with as many people as I could.

Feel free to contact me if you feel like you're stuck on a topic. I'd be glad to help out. - Aarushi

Disclaimer: I'm currently in Grade 12, with no degree in Education. This is only me trying to be a good person and helping my peers out. If you have major queries, please refer to your teacher. I will do the best I can to explain the concepts I'm familiar with. Thank you for understanding.
