My last year in High School started on September 3, 2019. Being a Tuesday, school started at 10 AM, and being the first day, it ran till 12PM. We got our finalized timetables and according to mine, I have Sociology, Biology, Chemistry and Advanced Functions this semester.

I chose to take Sociology because I knew it would be an interesting change of scene from all the Science and Math I have this year. I really like my Sociology teacher. She has a great sense of humour and likes to plan everyday of her life out the way I do. I’m most excited for Sociology because I haven’t taken a Social Science course in a hot minute. Biology is my favourite subject, so it was a no-brainer for me to take it. My teacher and I agree on one thing: you shouldn’t have to memorize anything in Biology. My Chemistry teacher is very cool and sweet, like Rosa Diaz from season 6 of B99. I had the same Math teacher last year, so I already have a good rapport with her.

The week has mostly been a big review of Grade 11 concepts, but by the end of the week, a couple of my teachers started teaching the Grade 12 concepts. My textbooks are quite heavy, not that I am surprised. I’m thinking of taking a jute bag with me to school, so I won’t have to carry all the extra books, that don’t fit in my bag, in my arms.

It still doesn’t feel any different from all my previous school years. I’m still as tired in my math class as I used to be last year. But I guess the realization of this being my last year here hasn’t really hit me yet. I’ll probably cry when it does.

Something good happened this week. I took my laptop outside my house for the first time since I got it, and I managed to get through the day without harming it. I got to school early and whipped my laptop out, like a pro, and was able to finish so much work; all because I had my laptop with me. Noice!

My weekends will probably just be me finishing my remaining homework so I’m going to tie this up here. Like a pretty bow. I’m excited for Monday because we’ll finally begin doing some real Grade 12 work. Yay! Till then, toodles.
