The weeks are getting longer and busier. I just wish we had 4-day weeks and 3-day weekends. XD.

Monday began with a study hall in the first period. Our Biology teacher had uploaded videos of her explanation of the Electron Transport Chain on Google Classroom. I took the free period to catch up with all the work I had pending. In Sociology, we watched a documentary, ‘Waiting for Superman’, about the conditions of the education system in America. I left class a little early to help set up for the haunted house. I played the role of a witch that wanted to have tea with the students of our school. In Math, we moved to the next unit, Trigonometry. We discussed the concept of degrees and radians. In Chemistry, we had a work period to finish our (very lengthy) lab reports.

I feel like Tuesdays are always a continuation of Mondays. In Sociology, we continued watching the documentary. The point was to write down surprising concepts and questions related to the movie and submit it as a mark booster, to protect us from a drop in our grade after the Midterm. In Biology, we continued to discuss the concept of Electron Transport Chains. They are the most wonderful, confusing, unnatural things I have studied about. How can a tiny organelle be responsible for such complex activities? I refuse to believe it. XD. At lunch, we opened the haunted house again. That was a wrap on that. In Chemistry, we started Thermodynamics. We only did the basics: terminology, types of chemical reactions and nuclear reactions. In Math, we continued with Trigonometric concepts.

On Wednesday, we finished cellular respiration by discussing Chemiosmosis, in Biology. In Sociology, we learned how we should navigate Statistics Canada. It’s a large website, with a ton of raw and processed data. We got another essay outline assignment, this time on Poverty. At lunch, we had a SAC meeting to discuss the Halloween Fashion Show. In Math, we discussed the radian values of relative acute angles. I liked it better when we were working with degrees. In Chemistry, we had a supply teacher, so we had a worksheet to complete. It was on calorimetry and specific heat capacity.

Thursday was Halloween. I dressed as two different things. You can read my previous article for more details about what I dressed up as. My Sociology teacher dressed as Duke Caboom from Toy Story 4. We had a work period to finish studying for our Midterm on Monday. In Biology, we did a review of cellular respiration as one long process. Next, we did Protein Catabolism. I left early to help set up for the Halloween Fashion Show in the cafeteria. In Chemistry, we did our mini-presentations. Mine was about Polyesters, which coincidentally was what my dress was made of. In Math, we used graphing calculators to graph trigonometric functions.

Friday was an easy day. We had a work period in Sociology. We did lipid catabolism calculations in Biology. It’s basically calculating how much ATP is produced in the breakdown of fat. At lunch, we had a great UCC meeting. In Chemistry, we had a work period to study for the chapter test. I chose to study for my Sociology midterm, instead. In Math, we did transformations of trigonometric functions. Then we had a quiz.

I hope your week was wonderful, too. You can get in touch with me by emailing me at rueshi25@gmail.com. – Aarushi
