If things stay on track, this post is one of my last 8 weekly recounts as a high senior. Cue the waterworks :( While I'm writing this, there are actually only 6 weeks left to recount. Week 30 is also over. I'm not bawling. You are!
May 04 – May 08
Weeks at home have been getting boring and lazy. All my will to have a routine has diminished because the reopening of school is nowhere in sight ☹. I’ll continue recounting my week based on classes instead of based on days.
In Calculus and Vectors, we started Chapter 7, Applications of Vectors. On Monday, we got more time to do some review questions for Chapter 6. Tuesday was Assignment day, and the assignment made me nervous! I knew that my answers were right, but I didn’t want to submit my assignment because of self-doubt. On Wednesday, we did 7.1, Vectors as Forces. It wasn’t different from Chapter 6 because it was just the addition of vectors. There were questions about resultant forces and tension. Thursday’s work, 7.2-Velocity, was simple. It’s got questions about planes and boats being pushed by wind or currents. You have to find either the direction the vehicle moves if the force pushes on it, or what direction the vehicle should move when there’s wind or current so that their resultant direction is the one they desired. Like if you’re in a boat and you want to go straight across, but there’s a current that will push you downstream, you’ll move upstream to counter that force and, in the end, end up right across from where you started. On Friday, we got an assignment due on Sunday, so that was all for this week’s Vectors class.
In Writer’s Craft, I worked a bit more on my Short Story ISU. I have the marked copy so I might post it here one day. It wasn’t easy finishing the story because I couldn’t decide which ending I liked better. Not much happened because, again, no new assignments. It's a wonderful life XD.
In English, we had an assignment I wasn’t looking forward to completing. The first part was to pick a chunk of advice given in Hamlet Act 1, Scene 2 and explain whether or not the way it was given was effective. I did worse than I’d expected but, then again, the only analysis I worked with was my own and it wasn’t that good. I wish I could have been in a classroom setting to clear all my doubts with my teacher. The second part of the assignment was to record our own advice to 9th graders about getting better at reading Shakespeare. That went better than I expected but I haven’t gotten my mark yet so I can’t say how much better it was compared to the first part.
So, you can see that not much has been happening anymore. I miss the first few weeks of Grade 12. They were fun and busy, just the way I like my weeks. I’m hoping that we’ll get to go back to school for even just a day because I want to walk the halls one last time, sit in my classes one last time, and see my friends, hopefully not for the last time. I hope you are having a good time. Stay home and stay safe. - Aarushi
