A "Day" in My Life

"Day" is in quotations in the title because I do absolutely nothing productive during the day; most of my productivity happens at night, as you'll read in this post.
*I’ve been trying to write a post about something I said I'll write about for four days now. None of my drafts meet my expectations ☹. So, here’s something unrelated to studying or university or career planning.*
This post is about a day in my life during this time of social distancing. It’s going to be short because I am mentally exhausted from schoolwork and writing other posts. Here it goes.
My day starts at 12 AM. That’s not a typo; my day starts at midnight. I wake up and eat some leftovers or have a banana if I’m not feeling too hungry. Then, I turn my laptop on and look at my agenda. Right now, it’s only to see how much more Math homework I have left. Then I scroll through Instagram on my Study with Aarushi account to interact with some people, comment on posts I like and look at the engagement on my own page.
Next, I binge-watch Modern Family. I freaking love that show so much. Lily is my favourite character. The mood to work doesn’t strike at a fixed time, but it’s usually between 4 AM and 6 AM. That’s when I write posts and do things that’ll help me later on in life. I meditate when I remember to, but it isn’t a fixed part of my routine just yet.
Around 7 AM, I move my work to the kitchen table and get down to doing my Math homework. First, I play some music and make notes based on the worksheets my teacher uploads for each section of the chapter. Then I make notes from the videos she recommends. Then, with music playing again, I do my homework questions.
Once that’s done, I check my emails and delete what I don’t need. I look forward to a certain email that has really fun questions of the day. I’m not sure when I signed up for it but I wait for that email every morning.
Sometimes, I have breakfast with my mom. We talk for a while before she leaves for work and I go to my room to get ready for bed. I don’t go to sleep right away. I browse through the explore page of my SWA account, I play this game called Cells to Singularity (I’m obsessed with it) and I watch new uploads from people I’ve subscribed to on YouTube.
I finally start feeling sleepy around 11 AM. I play my sleep-time playlist, which is just all of Taylor Swift’s slow, sad songs, and I go to sleep.
Sometimes I wake up before 12 AM. If it’s around 3 or 4 PM. I have a light lunch and go back to sleep. If it’s around 6 or 7 PM, I have a light dinner and go back to sleep. And then I wake up around 12 AM and the routine repeats.
I am in no way promoting this schedule. This is just the routine that works best for me. I’ve always been a night owl. Things are fine when I have school or anything else that requires me to wake up early, but I always revert back to sleeping during the day and staying up at night. This routine also allows for minimum interaction with anyone, which, right now, is what I need. I get so much done in the silence of the night. My productivity isn’t uniform, so I didn’t mention exactly what I get done at night, but it’s much more than what I get done on any day, during the day XD.
I would love to know if staying at home for so long has affected your routine, minimally or drastically. Tell me in the comments here, or on the Study with Aarushi page on Instagram. Until my next post, bye! - Aarushi
