I wanted to make this post different from my monthiversary posts but that put me into a writer’s block – until I realized that what I always do is what I should do in my One Year post: be grateful.

In this post, I would like to thank everyone who has ever helped me come up with a blog post, including my mom, for guest writing more than once, and my friends, Azrin and Sadaf, whose ears I’ve chewed off multiple times, trying to come up with something that would be fun to read. Thank you for all your help and ideas. I’d also like to thank people who constantly support me with their comments and words of wisdom, including Radhika, Delainey, and Aditi. Your hype keeps me going. Lastly, I thank everyone who reads my posts and clicks on that little red heart at the end of each post, here, on the website. I can’t see any names, but I thank you anyway.

Next, I want to thank my laptop for being such a hugely supportive part of my journey. Without you, I would probably still be working on that one story that I hate but can’t stop writing anyway. Without you, my life would be all work and no play. Thanks for being everything that I need. While I’m being grateful, let me say a big thank you to my brain, for churning out 95 posts. You can be a little stubborn and lazy sometimes, but you are perfect for me. Keep it up.

Now, I would like to share an update/plan. If you’ve read ANY of my last 10 posts, you know I’m starting my first year of university soon, in less than a week while I’m writing this. And, after having read the syllabi of just two classes, I can admit I have a lot less free time than I predicted. My initial plan only factored in lectures, labs and tutorials but now that I have the list of assignments that are due and homework and quizzes I’ll have to make time for, with an explanation of what I need to do for each of them, I have to revise my plan. I still plan on posting a lot, but, for the first few weeks of university, I think it will be less scheduled and more spontaneous than how I did things in high school.

My next update is that I want to continue posting advice about high school and, if requested, middle school, along with posts about my university experience. I have orientation coming up, so many workshops lined up and with all my lectures, labs, tutorials, and study groups, I think I’ve hit the motherlode of content. For this year, or at least this semester, I don’t see many of my university posts being advice posts unless it’s from a high schooler’s point of view. I mean, I think I might write a post about ‘The 10 Things I Did in my First Week of University,’ but not ‘The 10 Things You Should Do in Your First Week of University’ because who knows if what I did was right or if it suits everyone. If you want to look at the things I do as a list of things you could do, be my guest. I would love to be your inspiration, but I’ll be focusing more on telling you about my experiences rather than turning them into advice. That’ll happen once I’ve finished my first year and feel qualified to explain to you which moves I think were right and which ones weren’t.

My last update is that I’m trying hard to start a YouTube channel. I’m terrible at editing videos so I’m definitely not confident about it doing that yet, but, hopefully, I’ll learn how to over the course of this year and then I’ll have a channel where I can explain things better than I do in text. With all my commitments and course loads, I don’t know when I’ll get the time to figure this out, but I want you to know that it’s part of my plans for this blog. I have a few more, bigger plans but they need a lot more refining before I can make them public. It’s so hard to keep secrets XD. I’ve been thinking of this YouTube channel since early 2019 and I’ve only just gotten the chance to be serious about it. So, I’ll wait until that’s the case with the rest of my plans before I share them here.

I think that is all for this anniversary post. If things go my way, I’ll have this blog around forever. Might bring in a few budding writers to help me, too. Stick around and I’ll love you for it. Till my next post, toodles! - Aarushi
